Writers in Conversation brings together each month two writers to read from their work, discuss the literary life and answer questions.

Rick Magee grew up in California, then moved to the east coast for graduate school and never left. He teaches literature and writing at Sacred Heart University, and he teaches in study abroad programs in Ireland and Italy whenever possible. His monthly column can be found in CT Hearst papers. He lives in Bethel, where he is the current Poet Laureate, with his wife, son, and two dogs.

Jack Powers is the author of two poetry collections: Everybody's Vaguely Familiar (2018) and Still Love (2023). His poems have appeared in The Southern Review, Salamander, The Cortland Review and elsewhere. He won the 2015 and 2012 Connecticut River Review Poetry Contests and was a finalist for the 2013 and 2014 Rattle Poetry Prizes. Visit his website: http://www.jackpowers13.com/poetry/.
