Event:THE ALCHEMY OF WORD & IMAGE--Ridgefield
Date:August 5th, 2023.
Time:1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
Location:Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, 258 Main St., Ridgefield, CT
Contact:Barbjennes@gmail.com
On its simplest level, the aim of alchemy is to transform a common substance into a material of great value. Likewise, the goal of ekphrasis is to transmute the viewer's emotional response to works of art into words that bear a higher meaning or truth. Join Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita Barb Jennes to create an alchemy of word and image as we closely inspect several provocative pieces in the current exhibition "Prima Materia," which begins with a look at the Periodic Table's alchemical past. All ages and skill levels welcome!
$5 members, $10 seniors/students, $15 general admission (all include Museum admission)
Please register here or on-site at the Museum: https://thealdrich.org/events/the-alchemy-of-word-and-image-an-ekphrastic-workshop
