Our May 2nd program features two local talents William (Bill) Singer Moorhead and Sharon Smith. William (Bill) Moorhead has an undergraduate degree and two graduate degrees in various disciplines. He has been published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston, various poetry journals, anthologies, and other journals. His poetry is often humorous, inventive, was recently honored as a contest winner by the National Baseball Poetry Festival, and he has two books forthcoming. In her recent collection "reflection" - poems by Sharon Smith, Ms. Smith shares her take on various aspects of her life with humor, insight, and always a sense of wonder. Sharon frequently produces poetry programming in support of the art of poetry and those who practice it.
VSG fosters a sense of community and promotes the art of poetry in Southbury and beyond. Whether you're a seasoned poet, an aspiring writer, or simply a lover of the spoken word, mark your calendar for these Open Mic nights - a new home for poetry in Southbury.
