"The Weight of Kindling" is the first volume of poetry for adult readers
by the Inaugural Poet Laureate of Vernon. (Shea is best known for
her award-winning books for young readers.) It examines her
sources of inspiration including her grandmother, her extensive
travels, and the family she helped create.
