In Ekphrasis, her new collection of poems inspired by the interplay between visual art and poetry, Judith K. Liebmann explores different art forms in conversation with each other. In this afternoon’s Reading, she will share poems from the collection and slides of the works that inspired them, ranging from an Archaic Greek statue to a painting by Winslow Homer to a NASA photo of a Black Hole. In discussing the process of how an image can inspire a poem, she will illuminate the creative process will inspire you to see both poetry and visual art in a new way.
