Please come hear award winning poet Henk Rossouw read from his work on Wednesday, April 3rd, on the University of Hartford campus! This is the second event in the Spring 2024 Cardin Reading Series.

Henk Rossouw hails from Cape Town, South Africa. His book Xamissa (Fordham University Press, 2018) won the Poets Out Loud Editor's Prize, and his chapbook The Water Archives was included in the box set New-Generation African Poets: Tano (Akashic Books, 2018). His poems have appeared widely, including in POETRY, The Massachusetts Review, Boston Review, and The Paris Review. He co-directs the Creative Writing Program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

The reading will open with University of Hartford senior Alexa Schwartz, who was chosen as one of five student poets statewide to be on the Connecticut Poetry Circuit student tour. Ms. Schwartz will read her winning poems.
The event will be followed by a Q&A. Mr. Rossouw’s books will be available for purchase.
This event is free and open to the public.
