Event:Haiku Workshop
Date:April 17th, 2025.
Time:6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Location:Rockville Public Library, Union Street, Vernon

Want to fill the library's "Poet Tree" with leaves of poetry?
Come celebrate Poetry Month and Earth Day and learn how to write modern haiku (about nature) and senryu (about human nature). We'll draft short verse and then write final versions on leaves which will be laminated and hung like ornaments on RPL's Poet Tree.

The event is free but please use the link above to register.
Your instructor is Pegi Deitz Shea, Vernon's Inaugural Poet Laureate and current President of the CT Council of Poets Laureate. She is also a two-time winner of the CT Book Award for Children's Literature, and a longtime creative writing instructor at UCONN. Learn more about her at www.pegideitzshea@aol.com.
